Our doctors are therapeutically certified optometrists providing comprehensive vision and eye-health examinations for all ages. In addition to complete routine vision care services including corrective spectacle and contact lenses, they also provide therapeutic eye care and medical management for various ocular surgeries/conditions including cataracts, LASIK, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, dry eye, and macular degeneration.
Our optometrists are committed to the health of their patients and to the evolving medical advancements in optometry. They participate in at least 25 hours of continuing education each year. They are passionate about providing thorough, compassionate care to each one of their patients.
Dr. Robert Miller started a Private Practice in Hartville Ohio in 1992 and purchased the practice’s second location in Berlin, in 2003. The doctors divide their time between the Hartville and Berlin offices.

James M. Miller, OD
Dr. James Miller attended Cedarville University prior to graduating summa cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 2006—alongside his friend Dr. Randy Omlor. While he was interested in pursuing a degree in the medical field in college, his brother’s (Dr. Robert Miller) influence led him to narrow that pursuit to optometry. He really enjoys being able to use his optometric degree help people of all ages in a tangible way on a day-to-day basis.
The relatively family-friendly nature of an optometric practice schedule is an extra benefit for Dr. Miller since he and his wife, Natasha, have four daughters. They currently reside in Sugarcreek in the same house they purchased the year of his graduation (2006), and they are active partners at Mercy Hill Church in Berlin.
Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with his family, doing projects around the house, learning to smoke meat, and reading books as well as listening to podcasts—the latter two activities being primarily focused on theological content. Though he has mostly given up playing sports himself, he still enjoys watching his daughters play. Additionally, as of January 2024, Dr. Miller is also honored to serve on the Garaway Local Schools Board of Education.
